Thanks to a scheduling error at the University my semester got a free week in November. Normally only the master students should have gotten free to travel to Lisbon for the Web Summit 2021. We then got asked if my semester wants to travel there too and again thanks to the University we all got full access for the whole 3 days of the Web Summit. So seven fellow students and I decided to fly there too for five days and also take some time to explore Lisbon.
While I wouldn't see myself living there cause the city itself is a bit too old for me it was still a pleasant experience and if I'd get the chance to travel to Lisbon or Portugal again, I'll do it.
The Web Summit was great. Lots of interesting talks. My favorite was Dream it, then make it happen from Kate Swanborg, SVP of Technology Communications at DreamWorks Animation. She told us how DreamWorks uses Technology to work on several animation films at once. Really cool. The University also got invited to the Austrian Embassy for food and drinks.
All in all, was Lisbon a great experience and I can't wait to travel even more.
